JOB PURPOSE:

This role is to aid the purchasing function based at the Limerick site ensuring that all production materials and consumables essential for production are ordered and scheduled for delivery and to record any non-conforming activity to the supply base in a timely manner in compliance with Company policies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. To facilitate production by ensuring materials & consumables are ordered for relevant production areas on time in full in accordance with the production/forecasted planned consumption.
2. To record stock levels and purchase stock in a timely manner and ensure systems are updated to reflect orders placed and received.
3. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues across all departments to improve the flow of communication and understanding within the business. This involves liaison with all relevant personnel in planning, production, customer services, sales and warehousing.
4. To lead and support research and analysis for key business projects and developments within the business to support continuous improvement, cost savings initiatives and strategic change directed from customers, or corporate or at local site level.
5. Ensure all pricing and quotations collated are concise and relevant.
6. Reporting - Generating, maintaining and issuing a range of reports on stock, stock holdings and stock agreements and full analysis for specific customer accounts.
7. Attend supplier meetings where appropriate and assist with quality team for auditing supply base.
8. To raise quality documentation as appropriate to release to the supply base.
9. To be proactive in the pursuit and participation of continuous improvement projects and operational excellence.
10. To complete all necessary administrative tasks (electronic & paper).
11. To support the successful implementation of transferrable functions across the 3 sites in Ireland Cartons.
12. To maintain raw material stock levels at an acceptable and agreed level to ensure working capital of the site is not negatively impacted by way of aged and obsolete stock reduction.
13. Involvement in stock takes as required.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and Westrock would expect you to carry out any other reasonable duty which you are capable of performing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

1. Ideally working to MCIPS qualification – or wishing to start.
2. 3 years' experience within purchasing and ideally within a manufacturing environment.
3. Awareness of materials and supply chain used in production.
4. Relevant experience of statistical analysis and trend analysis.
5. Communication/presentation skills. Proficient in PowerPoint/Word/Excel/PC.
6. Project management and problem solving skills.
7. Interpersonal and negotiating skills.
8. Commercial Acumen.
9. Efficiency and results focused.
10. Organisational and priority management skills.
