Our Purpose

We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential.
Title and Summary
We are looking for a Lead Full Stack .NET Engineer who will play a crucial role in the Business & Market Insights technology group, driving the development of solutions that empower engineering teams across the organization. This position is particularly focused on solving cross-cutting challenges in data processing and architecture, including, but not limited to:
1. Developing a data pipelining tool to streamline data processing.
2. Creating data inventory management solutions for better visibility and control.
3. Building infrastructure that enables applications to interface efficiently with data stores, reducing the time application teams spend on common integration challenges.
Alongside engineering managers and product roles, this role is responsible for system architecture design, setting high software development standards, and delivering complex engineering projects. This role is central to MasterCard's Business & Market Insights group, a key differentiator that delivers data-driven technologies and software services — including business experimentation, loyalty and marketing automation, and advanced data analytics — to help customers innovate and grow.
Responsibilities
1. Plan, design, and develop software engineering solutions.
2. Define architecture, drive technical strategy, and lead technical conversations and projects.
3. Own the full development lifecycle, ensuring best practices, code quality, and scalability.
4. Select frameworks and methodologies; lead PoCs and vendor selection.
5. Manage production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
6. Mentor and guide team members.
7. Collaborate with a diverse, geographically distributed team.
8. Engage with leaders and product teams to align detailed technical solutions with business goals.
Had you been with us last month, you would have:
1. Redesigned parts of the UI of our data orchestration tool to simplify and speed up the creation of data orchestration workflows.
2. Designed new data transformation processes to integrate and process data from BigQuery.
3. Refactored our credential management solution for authenticating with client-owned data stores to be more flexible and cut the time required to add support for a new data technology.
All About You:
1. Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects, managing risks, and ensuring high-quality development.
2. Expertise in designing, building, and scaling systems, optimizing workflows, and resolving complex technical challenges.
3. Strong understanding of technical and business trade-offs, aligning engineering priorities with company objectives.
4. Proficiency in .NET, with adaptability across tech stacks and full-stack expertise (e.g., React, Angular).
5. Experience in system design, application security, and writing detailed technical proposals with clear business context.
6. Self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills to engage technical teams and executives.
Corporate Security Responsibility
All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices;
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.
