Senior AI & ML Software Engineer - North Dublin.

Core tasks and responsibilities:

This role involves a wide range of data-driven projects that make real-time intelligent decisions to support next-generation medical diagnostic analyser equipment. The scope of work will include gathering very large data sets from active analysers in the field, developing suitable data structures, committing this data to AI & ML tools to create models predicting analyzer behaviour, and ultimately leading the effort with the wider software team to implement these models into a real-time system to improve customer experience.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be part of a fast-growing, highly innovative engineering team working on complex medical device analysers.

The critical skills and personality we are looking for:

1. Proven experience in the design and development of high-quality AI / ML / DS solutions.
2. In-depth knowledge of various sophisticated tools and methods to achieve the following goals:

1. Gathering of large data sets and developing data structures.
2. Data analysis / manipulation.
3. Building AI / ML models.
4. Implementation into real-time systems.

4. Demonstrated experience with multiple machine learning techniques/models (Supervised Models, Ensembles, Unsupervised learning techniques, Neural networks).
5. Transfer learning and GPU acceleration would be an advantage.
6. Strong experience with a core software engineering language (e.g., Python, C, C#, C++).
7. Database experience (SQL or other).
8. Ability to decompose complex real-world problems into simple, straightforward AI/ML/DS solutions.
9. Excellent computer hardware knowledge including microcontrollers would be an advantage.
10. Use of software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all deliverables (Agile, Scrum, GDP, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor/Master’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably Computer Science/Engineering.
2. At least 5 years' relevant engineering experience in a high-performing AI/Data Science team.
