Cork, Ireland Engineerswithdrones Full time

We are currently processing applications for the role listed below. This position is no longer accepting new applications.

As a small company experiencing rapid growth, we're seeking a hands-on Business Administrator with strengths in operations management, business administration processes, compliance, and ISO certification to help manage and improve our expanding business. This role is ideal for a practical and organised individual who wants to make a lasting impact in a fast-paced industry and contribute to key growth projects in our Cork-based company.

Core Responsibilities Of The Role

There are two main aspects to this role:

1. General Administration of the Company

This is the backbone of the role — keeping the wheels of the company turning smoothly and ensuring our systems are running optimally.

- Health and safety documentation
- Company vehicles
- Software subscriptions
- Company calendar
- Insurance
- Accounts
- Payroll
- Aviation records and IAA compliance
- Hotels and accommodation bookings
- Staff certification and training

2. Assisting with Company Growth

This side of the role is where you get to help steer the ship. As we expand, you'll be responsible for supporting and leading mini-projects that move us forward, such as...

- Achieving ISO certification
- Maintaining ISO standards
- Recruitment processes
- Tender submissions

Future Growth in Your Role

We are a small, flexible and growing company. Once you've mastered the core responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your role and take on new challenges. For example:

- Staying up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging drone technologies
- Designing and implementing new back-office systems (reporting, analysis, compliance)
- Helping the company remain compliant with new regulations, as they emerge
- Assisting with marketing and client-facing activities

About Us

Engineers With Drones is one of the largest drone services companies in Ireland. We are at the forefront of an emerging technology and well-positioned for growth.

We provide drone surveys and inspections across a wide range of industries: energy, construction, infrastructure, land development, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. As a mainly B2B company, we work with knowledgeable professionals in these sectors.

Company Ethos

We pride ourselves on being efficient and straight-thinking. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our systems and processes, and we encourage new ideas. At Engineers With Drones, the best idea always wins, and we leave our egos at the door.

Some Examples of What We Do

- Electricity pylon inspections
- Wind turbine inspections
- Hydroelectric dam inspections via underwater ROV
- Forestry mapping
- Agricultural land mapping
- Building inspections
- Construction site monitoring and inspections
- Industrial plant inspections
- Solar farm mapping and inspections

Requirements of the Role

- Strong organisational skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Ability to work alone and get tasks completed
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn quickly
- Solid computer skills, including a strong understanding of spreadsheets

Not Required

No prior experience with drones or surveying is needed. This is not a drone-flying role. We will teach you everything you need to know about the industry to succeed in this position.

What We are Looking For

- Interest in the nuts and bolts of how businesses run
- Enjoys problem-solving and challenges
- Quick thinker, adaptable to new situations
- Keen to learn new skills, independently and with training
- Enthusiastic about growth and upskilling

Salary, Hours, and Location

Salary Range

€35,000 - €45,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

Hours

40 hours per week, working on a flexible schedule. We are a small company, so we can be responsive to the needs of our staff as required.

Location

We are based in Cork, Ireland. We are particularly interested in candidates located in Cork City or West Cork. This role can also be hybrid, with the option to split your time between the office and working from home.

Training

We place a lot of emphasis on training and upskilling here. This applies to both hard skills and soft skills.

Assessing Us

We want this to be the right fit for both you and us. We encourage you to ask questions at every stage, as recruitment is a two-way process. We expect you to assess us just as much as we assess you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch — we'll be more than happy to help.

How to Apply & Selection Process

Step 1 — CV and Cover Letter

Applications are now closed for this position as of Sunday, 14th September 2025

Step 2 — Online Interview

We are conscious that your time may be limited, so we will be inviting shortlisted candidates through to the first round for an online interview.

Step 3 — In-Person Interview

We want to give you the opportunity to meet us in person, to help you decide if we are the right company for you. We would also like to ask you a few more questions in person if that works for you. It's part of the recruitment process, but more so as an informal chat and an opportunity for you to ask us anything you'd like.

Step 4 — References

We will need two references who know you in a professional capacity, and who we can phone.
