Head of QA & Automation Location: Dublin (Hybrid) Type: Full-time | Permanent Industry: Financial Technology / Enterprise Software Reports to: CTO A growing enterprise software company is seeking a Head of QA & Automation Architecture to lead their quality engineering strategy and test automation initiatives. This is a senior leadership role driving QA excellence across a complex product portfolio within a regulated fintech environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor cross-functional QA teams including test automation and performance testing functions. Own and evolve the test automation architecture across web, mobile, and backend systems. Design and implement a scalable, long-term QA strategy aligned with product and business goals. Improve CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps, ensuring full test environment automation. Define and track QA KPIs, maintain robust regression test coverage, and ensure ISO27001 compliance. Champion quality in Agile environments and continuously improve tools, frameworks, and processes. Key Requirements 5+ years in senior QA leadership roles, ideally within fintech or highly regulated sectors. Proven experience architecting automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, JMeter, and RestAssured. Strong understanding of API, microservices, and backend testing. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), Git, and test case management systems (e.g., X-Ray). Knowledge of visual regression tools (e.g., Percy) and cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack/Sauce Labs). Experience with Agile, TDD/BDD (e.g., Cucumber), and containerization (e.g., Docker). Preferred Experience Background in banking, payments, or financial services. Exposure to mobile app testing, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and Unix/Windows environments. Familiarity with ISO standards and secure software development practices. Success Indicators Delivery of a clear, 3-5 year QA strategy. High automation coverage and reduced manual regression cycles. Fully automated test environments and improved release confidence.
