Dublin Pike, Ireland APEM Limited Full time

About The Role Are you ready to be part of a brand-new team where you can set the standards from the start? Do you want the chance to work directly with a supportive Director who’s passionate about mentoring and building careers? Are you looking for a role that offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make your mark as the business grows?
We’re building a new Environmental Planning team in Ireland, and this is your chance to join right at the beginning. As a Senior EIA Consultant, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex and high-profile projects across the renewables, transport, and infrastructure sectors. You’ll help shape how we work, influence the future direction of the team, and benefit from the support of both your Director and the wider APEM Group of environmental specialists.
From day one, you’ll be involved in impactful projects - everything from solar and wind farms to greenways, active travel schemes, and transmission upgrades. You’ll liaise directly with clients, coordinate with technical experts across disciplines like ecology, water, and landscape, and manage your own workload as well as supporting early careers consultants. This is a role with huge scope for personal growth: you’ll gain exposure to stakeholder engagement, project management, business development, and thought leadership as part of a growing and ambitious division.
Requirements You’ll need to bring:
An undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Planning
Strong report writing, technical review, and analytical skills
Experience delivering EIA-related work, including screening, scoping, and reporting
Project management experience, with the ability to meet deadlines and budgets
Experience working on projects in renewables, transport, or urban regeneration
Knowledge of the Irish policy and regulatory framework for impact assessment (or willingness to quickly develop this)
Stakeholder engagement expertise, including managing meetings and preparing supporting materials
Experience preparing fee and technical proposals
Nice to Have It’s a bonus if you have:
A postgraduate qualification in impact assessment or environmental planning
Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as ISEP (formerly IEMA)
Experience in other sectors such as water, energy distribution, active travel schemes, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of sustainability and consultancy skills in complementary fields like Strategic Environmental Assessment
At APEM, we’re known for technical excellence, but also for flexibility and support. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new team while building your own career, with mentoring, collaboration, and progression at the heart of how we work.
Next Steps We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can’t tick every box on our job description, then we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. That may be working part-time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area – we are a growing company and are able to adapt roles to reflect individual skills.
If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, then please apply immediately on our website. All we need is some basic information and your CV; we will review all applications quickly and respond to all applications.
