Are you a passionate Principal Developer ready to take the lead in shaping the future of cloud-native SaaS products? We're looking for an experienced Principal Developer to join our dynamic R&D development centre in Ireland. In this role, you will drive the evolution of our next-generation accounting product—leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver an industry-leading customer experience. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling our platform, working closely with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers. Design and Architecture:Lead the technical vision and architecture of our accounting product, ensuring it's scalable, secure, and reliable. Development:Be hands-on with cloud services development, utilizing Azure and AWS technologies, including identity management, API gateways, billing integrations, and messaging systems. Integration:Implement seamless integrations with third-party services, external APIs, and internal systems, ensuring data security and compliance. Scalability and Performance:Optimize cloud services for high performance and scalability, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks. Security:Champion robust security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain industry compliance. Collaboration:Work closely with product management, IT, and operations to align on requirements and technical solutions. Mentorship:Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Documentation:Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices. Continuous Improvement:Stay ahead of the curve with the latest cloud technologies, driving continuous innovation in our services.

What you bring:

- Required:

Expertise in C# .NET Core Experience with modern UI frameworks (React or Blazor) Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines Strong knowledge of MSSQL/Azure SQL

- Strong Experience with one or more:

RESTful Service APIs Redis Agentic Technologies (Azure AI Foundry, MCP, Model Tuning, Semantic Kernel, etc.) Native Azure Durable Functions Modern Reporting Technologies (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) Kafka Debezium

- Some Familiarity (ideal):

.NET 4.x Classic Web Forms MSSQL Enterprise Telerik SignalR SSRS

- General Knowledge (ideal):

Accounting and General Accounting Practices (GAP) Payment Processing and Transactions Payroll and Taxes

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience as a software engineer, with at least 5 years focusing on cloud services development. Proven expertise in Azure and AWS platforms, including designing and deploying cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless computing. Deep experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms, API gateways, billing integrations, and messaging systems. Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including encryption and identity management. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Event-Driven Architecture. Proficiency in C# and JavaScript for cloud service development. Knowledge of UML diagrams for system design and BPMN for business process modeling.
