The position requires an experienced CAD development Engineer with a strong Physical Design and Automation background. The successful candidate will be an individual contributor who will develop physical implementation tools and methodologies for PPA, Quality and shortening design cycle time. You will have a track record in the latest process technology nodes of digital cores or chips, with hands-on experience with state-of-the-art EDA tools. Responsibilities - Technology enablement and reference flow development for advanced tech nodes (below 4nm). This requires a solid understanding of the challenges seen in deep sub-micron process nodes. - Interfacing with EDA vendors to enable production-ready tool sets and to develop solutions to enhance PPA metrics for different blocks. - Collaborate with core and SoC design teams to develop solutions for advanced multi-die implementation and advanced process nodes. - Validating the developed solutions across the end-to-end PD domains: synthesis, PnR, timing signoff, and physical verification. - Engage with vendors, synthesis and PD teams and IP teams to resolve issues arising in tech enablement and PD execution. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience; OR - Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience; OR - PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience. Preferred qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering; master’s degree is a plus. - Solid understanding of CMOS circuit design & exposure to VLSI concepts. - Minimum of 6 years Synthesis and Physical Design work experience with below requirements. - Strong understanding of Netlist mapping, logic restructuring, DFT logic implementation, Formal Verification. - Experience in handling MV designs and knowledge of lower checks like CLP. - Experience in Floor planning for 4nm and below technologies. - Place & Route tool experience on Synopsys ICC2/FC and/or Cadence Innovus/Genus. - Placement experience mitigating legalization, secPG routing and congestion challenges, CTS (Skew balancing). - Good understanding of DRC debugging and Signoff Physical verification using Calibre. - Understanding of LEFs & std cell libraries, exposure to DRC rules of advanced tech nodes (below 7nm), std cell architectures & challenges. - Experience in PD implementation of PPA-critical cores, routing-intensive designs and making right PPA trade-offs; mitigating Formal Verification challenges. - Strong problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills. - Experience in Timing closure with Primetime/Tempus, Static IR analysis and GDS export & Physical verification with Calibre. - Deep knowledge of scripting and software languages including Perl/Tcl/Python, Linux/Unix shell. - Experience working as part of a larger team toward project milestones and deadlines.
