As a Network Development Engineer you will be responsible for building and operating the network infrastructure where you will learn the tools, services and components that the team relies upon every day. Through close collaboration, support and exchange of ideas, we share a common goal to serve our external customers, with seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. A relevant degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience in a large-scale network environment.
2. Experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data centre and/or Wide Area Networking (WAN) environments.
3. Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP networking systems.
4. Experience in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer impacting events, mitigating and root cause analysis of those events.
5. Knowledge & experience of interacting with many network devices at a time through any of networking configuration tools, Infrastructure as Code or scripting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, load balancers, firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IP address management.
2. Knowledge & experience of Linux or other Unix operating systems
3. Understands different networking hardware and packet forwarding architectures
4. Proficiency in scripting/programming with one or more of Python (preferred), Perl, Ruby, Shell, Java, etc.
