Offshore Business Intelligence Lead (E2025090)

We are the people behind Ireland’s electricity grid. We operate the power system with world leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring that everyone has power when they need it. But that’s not all; we are now transforming the power system for future generations.

And that’s just the beginning of our story. We have a critical purpose. That purpose is to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.

Be part of the transformation

The Opportunity

We are now seeking an Offshore Business Intelligence Lead to join our Programme Management Office. As Offshore Business Intelligence Lead, you will support the Head of PMO in developing and leading a team responsible for developing the offshore business intelligence and analytics offering.

You will be responsible for leading strategic, change-related projects – with outcomes such as simplifying reporting and storytelling of offshore business readiness and offshore capital projects with the C-Suite, Government, and the Regulator across our complex programme of work.

As part of your role, you will lead the team in implementing the business aspects of this work, which are complex in nature and require significant changes to how we source, store, transform, consolidate, quality assure, and analyze our data. The role also involves driving business processes and inputs for IT system and application deliverables and outcomes. This will be achieved by Business Intelligence Team-led collaboration across the EirGrid Business and IT teams in the areas of business intelligence, data modeling and analytics, business process change, and reporting and controls.

The Team

The Chief Infrastructure Office (CIO) within EirGrid comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce. The Infrastructure Office is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes, in collaboration with partners, customers, and communities.

The Offshore Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for undertaking three key roles within Infrastructure: Regulation and Compliance Reporting and Auditing, Business Operations and Governance, and Business Intelligence. The team is responsible for setting the governance policies and standards to be used for offshore business readiness and large-scale offshore transmission infrastructure and regulatory auditing and monitoring of OpEx and CapEx delivery. The team also develops reports on schedule and financial information and delivery of outcomes and benefits aligned to strategic objectives across the development and readiness of the offshore transmission infrastructure to key stakeholders such as DECC and the CRU.

About You

Successful candidates will have:

Essential

1. You will have a university degree in Business, Information Technology, or other equivalent degree, typically with 10+ years relevant experience.
2. Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills, and experience leading process design, implementation, change management, and improvement.

5. Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders to deliver on project goals. Ability to successfully guide, persuade, and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
6. A high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness, and the ability to use the informal power structure of the organization to achieve programme success and overcome obstacles.
7. Ability to develop programmes and deliver them within financial and resource constraints and manage risk across the programme and develop the necessary mitigations.

Desirable
