Dublin, Ireland Void Interactive Full time

We're VOID Interactive, the team behind the best-selling tactical FPS game, Ready or Not. Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals who are passionate about games and dedicated to creating top-tier experiences. We’re seeking an Art Director to join us remotely and play a pivotal role in bringing our projects to the next level.

As our Art Director, you will shape and guide the visual identity of the game from concept to launch, ensuring a cohesive and memorable aesthetic that enhances the player experience. You will lead and inspire the art team, fostering creativity while maintaining clear standards of quality, consistency, and innovation. Collaborating closely with designers, programmers, and producers, you will champion a unique artistic vision and ensure it is seamlessly integrated across all aspects of development.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

- Partnering closely with the Creative Director and leadership team to define and champion the game’s unique visual identity and ensure it aligns with the overall vision.
- Establishing and maintaining a cohesive art direction across all aspects of the project, from concept to final execution.
- Building and leading a high-performing art team, including hiring, mentoring, and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
- Developing and maintaining production pipelines and workflows that empower the art team to deliver efficiently at the highest quality.
- Collaborating with design, narrative, and engineering to ensure visual direction enhances gameplay and player experience.
- Reviewing, critiquing, and providing actionable feedback on artwork to maintain consistent quality and stylistic goals.
- Partnering with production to manage milestones, deliverables, and dependencies for the art team.
- Anticipating challenges in scope, style, or resources and proposing proactive solutions.
- Acting as a key advocate for art and visual storytelling both internally and externally.

What you’ll bring to the team:

- 8+ years of professional experience in game art, with at least one shipped title where you led or defined a distinctive and cohesive art style.
- Proven ability to form, lead, and grow an art team, with a strong track record of mentoring artists and fostering creative collaboration.
- Strong understanding of a variety of art disciplines (concept, character, environment, UI, VFX, lighting) and how they combine into a unified aesthetic.
- Deep knowledge of art production workflows and tools (e.g., Photoshop, Maya/Blender, Substance, Unreal/Unity).
- Experience collaborating across departments to balance creative vision with technical and gameplay constraints.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and align a multidisciplinary team.
- A portfolio demonstrating unique, high-quality art direction and versatility across styles.
- Passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling in games.

If this sounds like you, please submit your resume and an optional cover letter detailing your experience and what excites you about this opportunity. We look forward to hearing from you and discussing how you can help us shape the future of VOID Interactive.

Please Note: For Irish residents or citizens, this role is offered as a full-time employee position. For applicants based outside of Ireland, the role will be offered on a contractor basis. We are a remote-first company and are committed to hiring the best candidate for the role, regardless of where you are located.

Salary is determined by the location of the applicant, market rates, and relevant experience.
