Description of Role/Position

The Associate Director of Digital Integration is responsible for supporting the definition and implementation of Digital Plant systems and capabilities for Operations. Defining digital plant business and Data needs, ensuring user requirements are well understood and incorporated into the design, and that the applications and systems used are appropriately configured and integrated to fulfil the business need and enable a Digitally Native operation.

The Operations Digital Lead will combine their knowledge of Bioprocessing operations with analytical tools, data handling, modelling and visualization skills, and science and engineering, to deliver digital plant solutions to the operations. A significant part of the role will involve working with local and global IT experts and system owners to understand digital system capabilities and system positioning, as well as close collaboration with materials and logistics operations, engineering, TSMS, QA and QC to understand interdependencies between business processes and digital applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate the business needs into user requirements for all new digital technologies and solutions that will deliver an automated, paperless, fully integrated, data analytics driven operations and business processes.
- Develop the standard workflows for how we will use digital technology within operations business processes and operations.
- Define strategies for operational offline and online shakedown and testing of digital solutions post-implementation by IT. Work with the relevant functions to develop test scope and ensure it is planned and executed appropriately.
- Liaise with IT to develop best training practices to ensure an efficient, effective, and timely knowledge transfer to the end users.
- Support the implementation of these digital solutions specifically MES, Delta V, SAP, LabVantage, MODA, Huddle, Process and Flow team visualisations, SIMCA, Scheduling Tools, and automated tasks.
- Facilitate the assessment of operations processes for digital and data needs, identify what processes should be process mapped and work with the Operation LT and CFT to ensure these are completed and maintained.
- Member of Site Digital Plant Lead team and Digital Operations & Technology Team representing operations.
- Influence across the Operations LT and Flow team to drive innovations by leveraging the best digital solution.
- Develop the user requirements for the function’s Data Collection and Data Analytics needs.
- Promote process improvement and innovation to drive business process optimization.
- Lifecycle owner for the Operation’s Digital roadmap.
- Engage and leverage local and global IT expertise to deliver the data needs at the site.
- Stay updated on advancements in digital, data science and biotechnology, identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies and methodologies.

Educational Qualifications/ Experience Required

- Bachelor’s degree in an industry related Engineering, Operations, business information systems or Computer Science discipline.
- Minimum of (8) years’ experience in manufacturing, preferred in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
- Experience with integrated business process flows in a manufacturing facility.
