Temple Bar Hotel Dublin is seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team at our vibrant four-star property, located in the heart of the city. The hotel operates two exciting venues — Buskers Bar and Buskers On The Ball — offering a dynamic and fast-paced food and beverage environment that celebrates quality, innovation, and great guest experiences.
You will report to the Head Chef and Sous Chef and work closely with the wider kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure the consistent preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes for our guests. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast and other meals as required, maintaining the hotel’s high culinary standards.
Follow instructions from senior chefs to support the smooth running of the kitchen.
Ensure that all food is prepared to specification and presented consistently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your work area in accordance with hygiene and food safety standards.
Support with stock rotation and reporting of any shortages or issues to senior chefs.
Participate in cleaning duties as part of the kitchen team to ensure compliance with HACCP and hotel standards.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries correctly.
Follow all Health & Safety, Fire, and Hygiene regulations.
Be proactive in learning and developing culinary skills through daily tasks and training opportunities.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude with colleagues and other departments.
Requirements Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary setting is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.
A strong interest in food preparation and a desire to learn.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP certification is a plus).
Reliability, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
