Job Description:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers university students the opportunity to join a leading IT company and gain invaluable experience through our Internship Program. During your internship, you will apply the skills you have gained at university in a real business environment.
Throughout the program, you'll have regular training and one-to-one meetings with your manager. Working together, you'll set goals and plot your development. With our open-plan offices and friendly working culture, you'll have the chance to learn from senior managers who can help you in your future career.
Start Date: January 2025 or later (~ 8 months)

What you'll do:
The Innovation Team Developer intern is responsible for working in a development team under the guidance of a lead developer, to drive forward looking incubation projects through the software development life cycle. The successful candidate will be technically proficient in the areas of cloud native development, microservices architecture, and distributed computing. They will have experience with open-source technologies such as Kafka, Prometheus, containers, and Kubernetes. They will have developed enterprise class software offerings in the data centre, on the public cloud, and at the edge.
As a member of a development team, you will take cloud services projects from inception, through initial experimentation, into service development, and finally proof of concept verification with early-stage customers. If successful, these projects will then be converted into HPE customer offerings.
What will be your responsibilities:
- You will build and enhance your knowledge in software development methodologies, principles, practices and the software development lifecycle.
- Work as part of a team in an Agile environment.
- Implement software components of incubation projects which meet offering functionality, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Help evaluate implementation alternatives, including open source, 3rd party, and internal development options.
- Work with the development lead and other team members to proactively identify project risks and implement mitigations.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
What you’ll need:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science or a related field.
- Exposure to software engineering methodologies and practices.
- Exposure to Linux operating system and programming languages such as Java, C++, Golang, or Python.
