An opportunity has arisen with the daa Group Finance team for a motivated and ambitious trainee accountant. This role offers exposure to capital investment activities across the daa Group, including Dublin Airport, and provides a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and decision support. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial management of capital projects while developing their technical and analytical skills in a dynamic environment. This role will be awarded on a personal contract basis The key responsibilities will involve assisting in the following Group Finance activities: Assisting with the month-end close process for capital projects, including preparation of journals and reconciliations. Supporting the implementation and monitoring of internal controls within capital projects. Contributing to the preparation of capital budgets, forecasts, and plans, ensuring timely input from relevant stakeholders. Collaborating with Group Finance and Infrastructure teams to provide financial analysis and reporting that supports decision-making. Assisting in the review of capital project performance and providing insights to help drive improvements. Participating in process improvement initiatives and helping to streamline capital finance activities. Responding to ad-hoc queries and requests from the Group Finance and Infrastructure teams. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or a recent finance/business graduate with a strong academic record. Some relevant experience in finance, accounting, or audit (placement or graduate role desirable but not essential). Strong interest in financial reporting, budgeting, and capital investment. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and develop problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems or ERP tools is an advantage.
