Role Overview As a Clinical/Educational Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments for clients referred by the HSE and private clients.
Key Responsibilities Provide a full range of diagnostic assessments (ADOS, ADI-R, Psychological/Cognitive, School or home observations).
Compile information from various sources to arrive at a differential diagnosis.
Provide full-scale reports to relevant professionals and clients; liaise with schools and other required agencies.
Offer feedback to families following the assessment to explain the diagnosis.
Complete onward referrals as necessary.
Participate in quality assurance of reports and the presentation of results and feedback to families.
Qualifications and Requirements Postgraduate degree in Educational, Clinical or Counselling Psychology as recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
If qualified outside the Republic of Ireland, qualifications must be validated by the Department of Health.
Children’s First Training (HSE Certificate).
PSI registration.
Minimum of 1 year postgraduate qualification experience.
Relevant experience in administering diagnostic assessments in autism.
Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised Training.
Assessment Process and Fee Structure Our Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) conducts the ADI-R, while the Psychologist administers the ADOS.
During the assessment, SLT/OT may observe in the room; roles can be switched to allow the Psychologist to observe and take notes.
The fee covers assessment administration, report writing (results and recommendations), and parental feedback.
All assessments are remunerated at contracted, competitive rates per assessment.
