Overview
Principal Software Engineer – Galway (Hybrid, Permanent)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our technology team in Galway, Ireland . This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value products that support customers with innovative financial solutions. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable taking ownership, leading technical discussions, and mentoring others in a collaborative environment.

What We’re Looking For

8+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST API Microservices, Kubernetes, AWS, Lambda

Hands-on technical leadership experience, leading and mentoring scrum teams

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, etc.) and Agile development practices

Proven ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions

Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across architecture and business partners

The Role

Lead and mentor software engineers, ensuring delivery of robust, resilient, and stable systems

Drive full-stack design and development of innovative technical solutions

Deliver high-quality code with strong test coverage following industry standards and methodologies

Collaborate across multi-functional teams (engineering, QA, analysts, business partners) to achieve project objectives

Share knowledge across teams and contribute to technical strategy and best practices

Hybrid (3 weeks from home, 1 week in the office in Galway)

Permanent Position

Compensation
