Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated physiotherapist who is keen to specialise in the management of Hypermobility and in Scoliosis. If the individual has other areas they wish to specialise in, that meet the ethos of our clinic, we are open to discussion.

This is a part-time role for a Physiotherapist, located in Dublin with the possibility to build to a full time caseload. The Physiotherapist will conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment programs, and provide education on conditions like scoliosis, hypermobility, and PoTS. The role includes working closely with patients and their families, monitoring progress, and adapting treatments as needed to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Main duties of the job

- Once trained, independently manage a complex clinical caseload, including post-operative and conservatively managed scoliosis patients.

- Once trained, request and interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, EOS, MRI, etc) to support clinical decision-making.

- Contribute to service evaluation and improvement.

- Promote and engage in clinical research and evidence-based practice within our services when possible.

- Provide expert guidance and education to patients, families, and colleagues on the conditions.

- Ensure high standards of documentation, patient safety, and clinical governance.

What We’re Looking For

Coru and ISCP registered Physiotherapist.

Experience in rheumatology/musculoskeletal/spinal physiotherapy, ideally with experience in paediatrics.

Good clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.

Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Passion for service development, innovation, and improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential

- Physiotherapy degree

- Coru registration

- ISCP registration

Desirable

- Trained in using the one of the PSSE methods

- Post-graduate training in relevant areas

Experience

Desirable

- Previous experience working with rheumatology and/or MSK caseload

- Previous experience working with adolescent/paediatric population

Skills & abilities

- The ability to identify and act upon adverse clinical signs

- Able to communicate complex information to patients, carers, team and other health professionals

- Excellent time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise

- Excellent ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Able to provide a high standard of clear, concise written and verbal reports in English

- Ability to self-direct learning, be critical and evaluate own learning needs

- Ability to work in a stressful and unpredictable environment and manage own stress

- Good level of IT skills and computer literacy (to be tested during probationary period)

Desirable

- Good clinical reasoning skills and the ability to discuss these in the management of highly complex cases

- Comprehensive level clinical assessment and treatment skills across rheumatological, spinal, MSK and orthopaedic presentations

- Able to diagnose complex problems and formulate management plans

- Good teaching and training skills

- Ability to undertake clinical audit and research

- Clear, strong presentation skills
