Java Developer – OpenShift Experience

Overview

With 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade Java applications, you'll bring both technical depth and a collaborative spirit. You'll work alongside talented engineers and analysts, supporting and mentoring team members while driving excellence in design, development, and deployment.

Responsibilities

- Experience with OpenShift Container platform, 3scale API and KeyCloak
- Responsibility for building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications
- Java application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing
- Expert in Java development, with experience using industry-standard frameworks, e.g. Quarkus/Spring Boot
- Microservice and API development (RESTful, experience of REST design and implementation)
- Understanding of API security protocols (OAuth 2.0/0penID Connect)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, API managers and WebLogic
- Testing frameworks and TDD (like Cucumber or Junit)
- Databases: Relational (Oracle)
- Coding in adherence to the standards of the application in question
- Maintaining, tuning and repairing applications to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications; performing preventive maintenance activities; providing user support
- Integration of technical and application components to meet business requirements
- Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle of enterprise applications within given scope and timeframe requirements

Qualifications

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Essential skills

Technical Skills:

You will be able to clearly demonstrate enterprise project experience with the following technologies:

- Java, Spring, JavaScript, Angular2+, Quarkus
- HTML, XML, CSS or equivalent
- Developing webservices

You will have enterprise project experience with most of these technologies:

- OpenShift 4 and Docker containers
- 3Scale
- KeyCloak
- Spring JDBC
- Maven
- Gitlab
- Active MQ Messaging (Red Hat AMQ Broker/JMS)
- Jenkins
- SonarQube
- ArtiFactory
- Jira
- Confluence
- Encryption
- Integration with external applications (3rd party software)
- XML and JSON

Consultancy Skills:

- - Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively

- Ability to mentor, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing

- Collaborative team player

- Self-driven and disciplined

Experience

- 2 - 5 years of experience in enterprise Java development
- Public sector experience preferred
