Are you a commercially minded procurement professional with a passion for food manufacturing and supply chain excellence? Our client, a leading food production company based in County Kildare, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in sourcing ingredients, packaging, and services that support high-quality food production while ensuring cost efficiency and supplier reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and purchase raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect goods
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to ensure best value
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production to maintain supply continuity
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and compliance
- Collaborate with internal teams including production, quality, and finance
- Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate procurement records and support reporting requirements
- Ensure purchasing activities align with food safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

- Previous experience in a buying or procurement role (ideally in food, FMCG, or manufacturing)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and supplier compliance
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
