About the Job Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem behind the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is seeking a Global Deputy Lead - Compliance Systems and Controls . This role involves working closely with the Head of Compliance Systems and Controls, developing and enhancing systems, controls, and technology solutions within the Compliance division.
Responsibilities Compliance System Development : Develop and maintain compliance systems in areas such as name screening , crypto transaction screening , KYC/KYB , AML , post-transaction monitoring , and market surveillance.
Data Science & Technology : Apply modern data science techniques, including Machine Learning models and LLMs , to optimize compliance processes and enhance system efficiency.
Model Optimization : Tune compliance models and thresholds to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
Compliance Documentation : Ensure all change control processes and documentation meet regulatory standards.
Model Validation & Reporting : Oversee a model validation program and produce MIS reports to track performance and compliance effectiveness.
Customer Risk & Screening : Optimize Customer Risk Scoring Models and customer screening rules to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Travel Rule Integration : Integrate Travel Rule data into screening and monitoring systems for effective compliance.
Operational Efficiency : Improve case management platforms and workflows to increase operational efficiencies within the compliance team.
Leadership & Mentoring : Guide team leads in project management and organizational skills, while addressing any compliance knowledge gaps.
Requirements Experience :
10+ years in Compliance , with at least 5+ years focused on Compliance Systems development and data analytics .
Minimum of 6 years managing teams or overseeing managers/team leads.
Compliance Expertise : Strong understanding of compliance controls and experience in KYC , AML , crypto transaction screening , and other regulatory areas.
Leadership Skills : Ability to lead teams from strategy and ideation to implementation , ensuring effective model validation and testing.
Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degrees in computer science , data science , or related fields preferred).
Certifications :
Compliance-related certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are preferred.
PMP , Six Sigma , or Agile project management certifications are a plus.
Crypto Knowledge : Working knowledge and interest in cryptocurrencies and digital currencies .
Consulting Skills : Strong skills in problem-solving , communication , self-motivation , and attention to detail .
