Quality Coordinator - Quality Assistant-Permanent - West Cork

(commutable form Cork city)

We will consider STRONG GRADUATES IN FOOD SCIENCE or related Scientific degree e.g: Microbiology/Biotechnology

Reporting to the Quality Manager the Quality Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems within the laboratories as well as coordinate activities to ensure GMP/cGLP by setting up clear guidelines/KPIs to be achieved and maintained as well as drive operational excellence along with the Quality Management Team.

Main Responsibilities

- Ensuring compliance with current regulations and company directives/guidelines

- Performing regular inspections and reviews to ensure the employees adhere to quality procedures/policies

- Conducting and leading with training and improvements plans related to change control

- Preparing and maintaining Quality Management documentation

- Implementing processes and procedures to ensure on-time delivery of testing in compliance with cGMP and cGLP i.e., leading the team in optimising safety, performance and efficiency using established lean principles

- Ensure compliance to all site and central requirements, training and regulations i.e., Quality, Health and Safety as well as Environmental.

- Coordinate weekly Environmental Swabbing and testing program, in accordance with the site and in accordance with the central standards and communicate test results

- Developing/updating/Implementing and approving test methods/work instructions/protocols/Quality Systems/Company Policies in alignment with site and central laboratory strategy (completed in a timely manner)

- Leading and/or investigating OOS/OOT results and implementing CAPAs related to analytical testing

- Supporting other functions with the goal of performing all analytical testing that is required for plant operations and projects (i.e., Ops/SC/R&D/Projects), and as a Subject Matter Expert

- Liaising with Quality Manager in the day-to-day activities and plans

- Perform Quality and Food Safety Internal Audits programs in accordance to company guidelines/directives

- Purchasing of all materials and services relating to the laboratories

Key Requirements

- Third level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline

- 1 - 2 years' experience in a Laboratory environment would be beneficial

- Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Technologies and previous experience of using Quality Systems (such as LIMS, Bamboo etc..) highly desirable

- Working knowledge of quality and food safety legislation

- Knowledge of ISO Methods and PCR Technology would be beneficial

- Excellence in organizational skills, flexible and must be able to work outside scheduled hours

- Flexible and agile on taking new projects and seeing them through to completion
