About the Role The Algorand Foundation is seeking a dynamic and crypto-passionate Senior Accountant to oversee a wide range of accounting, budgeting, and financial operations. This role involves preparing accurate financial reports and executing critical accounting processes that have a global impact on the Foundation’s operations.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional eager to gain comprehensive exposure to all aspects of the finance and accounting function within a leading blockchain organization. This role reports to the Finance Manager.
Core Responsibilities Prepare journal entries in accounting systems.
Manage and execute month-end close procedures, including trial balance reconciliations and P&L variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Process, track and reconcile transactions for both fiat and crypto ensuring quality control.
Support the preparation of audit and tax deliverables.
Work with all levels of management, teams and colleagues to ensure integration and improvement of financial and accounting processes.
Support the preparation and production of budget, management reports and other financial reports for management.
Key Requirements Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Chartered Accountant.
Experience working in Fintech, the Big 4, Blockchain, Crypto.
Expertise in FP&A, budgeting, financial reporting, international payment processing and bookkeeping.
Knowledge in accounting software (preferably Sage), Excel and modelling tools preferred.
Hands-on and proactive professional with ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work on ad hoc projects.
Detail oriented, analytical, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions/ambiguity.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication abilities.
