Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining the unit's operational efficiency. This is a pivotal role requiring strong leadership, clinical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Step Down Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Lead, manage, and support the nursing team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain and improve patient care standards.
- Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring effective communication between multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Manage staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous improvement, and professional development within the unit.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in a step down unit, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of patient care practices.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
