Sport Ireland Facilities DAC (SIF) is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance General Operative with responsibility for supporting all aspects of the maintenance of the grounds. This is a full-time, permanent roleMonday to Fridayandsits within theMaintenance Team.?The role reports to theGrounds Supervisor.? JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibility will be: A good knowledge of playing field pitch maintenance isdesirable. To be able todeterminewhen grass areasare in need offertilising outside of scheduled maintenance. A very goodstandard of pitch marking isrequired. A very goodknowledge of pitching lining (Cutting). Mow Grass either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.Experiencedrivingtractors and familiarity with mowing equipment including pedestrian mowers. Cut lawn using hand,poweror riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice whenrequired. Power Blow / Sweep walkway of debris. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipmentutilizedin grounds keeping. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed Removal of waste, blowing, vacuuming and collection of grass and foliage clippings. It is the duty of themaintenanceoperative to carry out daily checks of the facilities and report any major defects to the Grounds Supervisor. Grass Cutting or Landscaping Duties as required in all weather conditions. Assist the Maintenance Team with Campus General Operative Tasks asrequired. Must havepreviousexperience of landscaping, grass cutting, use of cutting and landscaping equipment, tractors etc. This position consists of some physical works; it also consists of dirty works. Experience and Qualifications: Essential Criteria:? At least 1 year experience in agrounds maintenance(or related field) role isrequired.? A minimum qualification requirement is that the applicant holds a Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational training qualification.??? Desirable Criteria:? Keen interest ingrounds keeping.
