Buyer / Purchasing Assistant - Manufacturing

Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in County Carlow, is seeking a motivated Buyer / Purchasing Assistant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a busy purchasing function and contribute to the smooth running of production and inventory operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, components, and services
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms
- Monitor inventory levels and support stock control processes
- Work closely with production and stores teams to ensure material availability
- Maintain supplier records and assist with vendor evaluations
- Support the Purchasing Manager with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We/'re Looking For

- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role (ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
