Location: Navan, Co. Meath Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday) Salary: €22 - €25 per hour (€40,040 - €45,500 per annum) Start Date: October 2025 (flexible for the right candidate) We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated healthcare team in Navan, County Meath. This is a long-term position primarily based on a general medical ward, with occasional cover required on the neuro-rehabilitation ward. The ideal candidate will have experience in an acute hospital setting, though this is not essential, as full training and support will be provided. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment while delivering high-quality care to patients. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting patients with therapeutic activities and exercises as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Supporting patients with mobility, transfers, and functional activities to promote independence. Preparing and maintaining equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe and effective working environment. Monitoring patient progress, documenting observations, and reporting back to the Occupational Therapist. Providing education and advice to patients and their families on techniques to support rehabilitation and recovery. Requirements: Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is desirable but not essential. QQI Level 5 (or equivalent) in Healthcare Support, Therapy Assistant, or related area. A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions accurately.
