Payroll Specialist

We have an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join a progressive and growing company in Co Wicklow. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and likes to be busy and challenged
This role is fully office based. Please note that this location is not serviced by public transport.

Responsibilities:


Manage and oversee the end-to-end Irish payroll process for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Maintain compliance with Irish payroll tax, pension, and union agreements, as well as company policies.
Reconcile payroll accounts and liaise with Finance on payroll journals, reports and audits.
Manage benefit deductions, bonuses, commissions and other variable pay elements.
Oversee year-end activities and statutory submissions.
Partner with HR to ensure employee data is current and accurately reflected in payroll systems.
Ensure the accuracy of employee hours recorded on the job costing platform, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Work with external payroll providers to manage international and shadow payrolls, learning and applying local country requirements as needed.
Support the integration of new payroll systems or countries into our payroll framework.
Prepare and analyse payroll reports for management, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements.
Act as a key contact for employee payroll queries, providing clear and timely responses.
Assist the Finance team with bookkeeping duties, including bank reconciliations, invoice entry and other general ledger tasks.


Requirements for Role:


5+ years’ experience in Payroll
Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, union agreements and compliance requirements.
Advanced Excel
Previous experience with Bright Pay and Sage Accounts 50 (or similar accounting software).
Experience with (or strong willingness to learn) international payrolls, including shadow payrolls for globally mobile employees.
Experience working with multiple payroll systems and third-party providers.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Excellent communication skills
