The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join a growing tax team at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. Due to continued growth and ambitious expansion plans, we are recruiting a Director/Senior Manager to join the VAT team. This role offers the successful candidate the chance to accelerate their knowledge, skills, and development within a creative, entrepreneurial, and supportive team, working with a wide range of fantastic clients.

The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to serve a variety of international and domestic clients across diverse sectors. A key aspect of the role will be collaborating with existing indirect tax senior management to develop and enhance the firm’s indirect tax service offering.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technically sound, clear, and commercially-focused advice on indirect tax matters.
2. Manage a portfolio of indirect tax clients and oversee a compliance portfolio.
3. Work with senior management to develop and grow the firm’s indirect tax service offering.
4. Contribute to the operational management of the tax business, taking responsibility for specific areas as required.
5. Coordinate and collaborate with other member firms on cross-border projects and business development initiatives.
6. Contribute to the development of technical knowledge and training of staff on indirect taxes.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

1. Experience in a management role in practice.
2. Comprehensive VAT technical knowledge and experience.
3. Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
4. A track record of business development, with the ability to convert relationships into fee-paying work.
5. Self-motivated and capable of leading a team.
6. A strong team player with excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
