Senior Occupational Therapist – Autism Specialist Team

Location: Clare, Limerick & North Tipperary

Cpl Healthcare in collaboration with our client are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our clients Autism Specialist Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), providing comprehensive diagnostic assessments and reports for children and families in the Clare, Limerick, and North Tipperary areas.

About the Role:

As a key member of the MDT, you will work alongside a Senior Psychologist and Senior Speech & Language Therapist to conduct autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments following PSI guidelines and using DSM-V or ICD-11 criteria. Assessments will take place in clinical settings, schools, homes, and the community, ensuring a holistic approach to diagnosis and care.

This role is accountable to the Head of Clinical Services, adhering to structured assessment protocols and providing valuable feedback and intervention recommendations to families.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive autism assessments using ADIR and ADOS diagnostic tools.
- Deliver detailed reports and feedback sessions for children and their families.
- Work across a variety of settings including home, clinic, and school environments.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals to support children's development.
- Ensure all assessments adhere to GDPR, Children First, Consent, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate service user records in line with Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
- Engage in service development, research initiatives, and audits to improve service quality.

Requirements:

- Hold a CORU-registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Currently working as a Senior Occupational Therapist or meet the criteria for this grade.
- Certified training in Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADIR) and ADOS (Structured Play-Based Assessment Diagnostic Tool).
- Up-to-date training in GDPR, Children First, Consent, and Health & Safety.

General:

Excellent planning and organisational skills to manage caseload and key performance indicators.

Ability to liaise with families and professionals, arrange appointments, and contribute to diagnostic reports.

Work safely and adhere to local/national Risk Management policies.

Promote services aligned with trauma-informed care principles.
