Group Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to step into the role of Group General Counsel on a maternity cover basis. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the business globally, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and advising senior leadership on legal matters.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

- Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and board on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Lead and manage the global legal function, including external counsel relationships.
- Oversee legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Ensure compliance with international laws and regulations across jurisdictions
- Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts and agreements.
- Advise on employment law, data protection, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.
- Support governance and company secretarial duties, including board meetings and filings.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.

We would love to hear from you if you:

- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record as General Counsel or in a senior legal leadership role within a multinational or consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
- Experience managing legal teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to operate with discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.
- Beneficial to have experience in the construction, engineering, or consultancy sectors.
- Familiarity with international legal frameworks and multi-jurisdictional operations.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually with video required.
