Finance Director My client is a growing pharma company in Dublin City Centre. They are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented, results-driven and strategically focused Finance Director to join their finance team. The Finance Director will be a pivotal member of the finance team reporting directly to the CFO. He/she will be charged with overseeing the companys financial operations, risk management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), stock exchange listing rules. Serving as a strategic partner in driving the companys financial performance and growth. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with IFRS across all jurisdictions, keeping abreast of emerging standards and implementing necessary updates. Evaluate and maintain a robust framework for IFRS reporting, including policies, procedures, and training for the finance team. Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for multiple international entities and local statutory accounts, ensuring accurate representation of group performance for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with listing rules and tax laws. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring seamless coordination during audits and timely resolution of findings. Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Actively manage the companys risk exposure in partnership with the CFO. Accounting Consolidation: Oversee end-to-end consolidation process for multiple international entities, integrating diverse accounting practices into a unified framework. Oversee complex intercompany transactions, eliminations, and foreign currency translation adjustments, ensuring compliance with IFRS. Streamline the consolidation process by leveraging financial system (SAP) to automate workflows and improve efficiency. Advise on establishing clear protocols for handling joint ventures, minority interests, and acquisitions to reflect their impact on the consolidated financials accurately. Ensure compliance with local requirements (Italy, Ireland) in line with IFRS standards. Strategic FP&A Leadership and Business Partners: Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes across the company. Develop, establish and maintain monthly and quarterly business reporting at functional and business unit level. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop KPI dashboards and monitor operational metrics. Deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve business performance. Monitor financial performance, manage the preparation of quarterly financial updates to the leadership team and the board of directors. Partner with divisional managers and functional leaders to drive deep understanding and ownership of business performance; provide strategic and financial modelling support to evaluate new and existing opportunities. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals. Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence and integration. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring alignment with the company goals. Manage existing team Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across finance. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability. The person: Qualified Accountant with 10+ years in finance leadership roles, with substantial experience in IFRS reporting and international consolidations, preferably within multinational or fast-growing organizations. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (European CPA designations advantageous). Demonstrated success in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Deep understanding of regulatory environments, tax laws, and corporate governance frameworks. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion), expertise in financial software, FP&A reporting tools, and advanced Excel. Advanced knowledge of IFRS, with an ability to apply complex standards in a practical manner. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Salary: €120k - €150k depending on experience plus benefits.
