Ornua is an Irish dairy co‑operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Members, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products and has annualised sales of €3.4 billion. The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands, including Ireland’s most successful food export, Kerrygold, as well as Kerrygold Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO milk powders.
Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non‑Irish dairy products, for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world, and for managing volatility through de‑risking and trading strategies.

Why this Role is Valuable:
Ornua has an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Executive to join our Risk, Compliance & Insurance function. This newly created role will work closely with the Compliance Framework Business Partner and the Risk Management Business Partner in a matrix capacity to implement Ornua’s Compliance Framework and enhance the Risk Management Framework. It bridges compliance and risk by maintaining core documentation and implementing the compliance policy pipeline and reporting framework for timely, transparent execution. The role also collates and analyses financial and operational risk data, providing insights for compliance reporting, horizon scanning, and emerging risk identification. By integrating these activities, it strengthens global compliance and enterprise risk management across the Group, Ornua Foods, and Ornua Ingredients, enhancing operational resilience and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
Strategic Value to the Business:
Strengthening Risk & Compliance Collaboration: Supporting cross‑functional understanding of risk areas and associated compliance activities to build a comprehensive view of Ornua’s risk and compliance position.
Enhancing Risk & Compliance Reporting : Improving the quality, consistency, and timeliness of risk and control data and reporting at Group and BU levels.
Embedding Risk & Compliance Culture: Drive continuous improvement through training, internal monitoring, and stronger cross‑functional engagement.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Support the Compliance Framework Business Partner to implement Ornua’s Compliance Framework and drive a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
Assist in maintaining and updating compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials, ensuring alignment with the compliance framework.
Implement the compliance policy pipeline and reporting framework across the business, ensuring timely execution, visibility of reporting outputs, and alignment with regulatory and audit standards.
Support the Risk Management Business Partner to maintain and enhance Ornua’s Risk Management Framework.
Support the collation and analysis of risk & compliance‑related data (both financial and operational) to ensure timely updates to key risk and compliance activities.
Support projects or initiatives where Risk & Compliance are required to provide expertise and input (as required).
Perform other ad‑hoc duties as required from time to time.
Key Requirements:
Relevant degree and recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA).
3+ years in internal audit / compliance / risk management roles.
Experience in Food / FMCG multinational organisations would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, controls and compliance.
Excellent investigative skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
Ability to have strong attention to detail and focus on continuous improvement.
Excellent data analysis, risk assessment, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
