As Data Protection Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for the management and provision of advice on all data protection regulations impacting the Bank. The role includes responsibility for the management of personal data breaches, including timely engagement with the Data Protection Commission on behalf of the Bank, trend analysis and engagement with the business units. This role sits within the Data Protection team in Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk, and you will report to the Deputy Data Protection Officer. The Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk Team is an independent second line function that reports to the Chief Risk Officer. The team supports the Group Executive Committee and the Board in managing regulatory compliance, conduct and reputational risk across PTSB and is key to supporting the Bank in managing its relationship with its regulators. Responsibilities: Functional Strategy & Delivery Work closely with the senior management team to ensure effective and efficient communication in relation to data protection legislation and participate, as required, in monthly meetings with senior management. Responsible for the effective management and record keeping of data breaches, data protection related complaints and Data Protection Commission investigations. This includes collaborating with 1st line colleagues to mitigate reoccurrence of the breach. Risk Management & Control Responsible for keeping up to date on all relevant data protection legislative developments and completing 2nd line forward looking horizon scanning on emerging regulatory developments. Collaborate with 1st and 2nd line colleagues to ensure effective implementation. Lead the provision of training on data protection obligations and developments. Lead an inspiring Culture Champion and embed our values-based culture by living our PTSB values and behaviours every day in your interactions with team members, colleagues across the Bank and external partners. Support other relevant ad-hoc activities within the Compliance function. Stakeholder Engagement Build and manage relationships with a variety of business areas and stakeholders in supportive and collaborative ways, always actively promoting a strong culture that values risk and compliance management. Build trust and credibility within the team and business by demonstrating a professional approach and strong understanding of governance, risk management, risk assessment and control practices, including applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. Requirements: A relevant professional data protection qualification. Direct experience in a data protection compliance and oversight role. Relevant management experience in Compliance or another function/department. A strong understanding of data protection law and regulation and how to apply it in a business environment, readily commanding confidence as an expert in your professional field. A good understanding of data protection & compliance risks across the banking industry. A good understanding of the financial services industry, relevant products and services and the wider regulatory environment. Strong influencing & communications skills and has the confidence to deal with management at all levels. Ability to produce written and verbal outputs with clarity and impact. Self-motivated, able to correctly set their own priorities and meet project deadlines. Highly organised with an ability to work under pressure and to strict timelines while managing conflicting priorities. This is a permanent role based in Dublin Is this you?
