Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Dawnlough, you will be a vital contributor to our Engineering Team, driving process excellence and automation in precision manufacturing. Your role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes in a fast-paced CNC machining setting to boost efficiency, quality, and scalability. You will lead new product introductions, lean manufacturing initiatives, and process automation projects to satisfy increasing customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret manufacturing drawings to determine the best processes, considering material types, tolerances, and finishes.
- Review and process new components through our internal contract and NPI processes, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with CNC application engineers, tooling specialists, and inspection teams to refine machining processes using innovative solutions.
- Assist with process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and customer standards.
- Facilitate new customer onboarding, reviewing technical documents to meet their requirements.
- Coordinate with production to update ERP systems with part definition, manufacturing routing and all other relevant part requirements.
- Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions for manufacturing validation.
- Support the sales team in preparing quotations, assessing machine capacity, material selections, and subcontracting needs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage part and job creation on the ERP system.
- Oversee customer order management, communicating status updates and future planning.
- Assist production and quality teams with queries and ensure accurate data across all departments.
- Engage in other ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Engineering or Manufacturing.
- 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting (CNC machining experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of material types and finishing processes (e.g., heat treatment, anodizing).
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering/manufacturing drawings; GD&T knowledge is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong grasp of cost allocation and product costing.
- Advanced IT skills, including Excel and MRP software.
- Eagerness to learn, progress, and take responsibility.
- Business acumen and outstanding interpersonal skills for interfacing with senior management.
