Location:Vision Ireland Retail Store, Gort, Co Galway Contract Type: Specific Purpose Contract, part-time (to cover family leave) Hours: Initially 3 days per week (22.5 hours excluding unpaid lunch breaks) for 6 weeks, reducing to 1 day per week (7.5 hours excluding unpaid lunch breaks) for approximately 6 months. This role is being offered to provide cover for an employee on family leave. The initial requirement is for 3 days per week over a 6-week period, after which the position will reduce to 1 day per week for an estimated 6 months. Some flexibility may be required to meet operational needs. Our extensive Retail Operation of 130 nationwide stores provide support and critical funds to meet the essential services of the nearly 300,000 sight loss client users across the island of Ireland. As Store Manager you will be responsible for a strong team tasked with driving both turnover and revenues in ourGort store.You will be tasked with supervising financial KPIs, including sales, wages, and shrinkage, together with customer service/feedback, internal audits, standards, and compliance. Principal Duties: Meet and exceed ongoing retail store sales targets. Ensure that all visual merchandising standards are attractive and in line with weekly changes in accordance with celebratory and promotional events. Recruitment and development of all staff, volunteers, and social activation scheme employees to enhance a positive collegial atmosphere with particular attention to customer service. Ensure adequate staffing cover at all times to meet the needs of the business and daily / weekly trading periods. Ensure that all goods offered for sale are of excellent quality and that the store is kept clean and professional in appearance at all times. Undertake responsibility for all donated goods and ensure proper presentation when displayed on the shop floor, to include pricing, ticketing, cleaning, ironing, and stock rotation. Manage the shop accounting procedures including banking, till receipts, transactions and cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times. Full responsibility for inventory and security of all equipment and fittings on the shop floor and extended premises. Take an active lead and support for all on-going store and community-based fundraising events. Promotion of the Vision Ireland brand through a variety of local channels in a cost-effective manner whilst ensuring communications are in keeping with brand standards. Responsibility for all health and safety in accordance with statutory obligations to include training, adherence to fire procedures and maintenance of all safety and first aid equipment.
