Dublin, Ireland Cyberireland Full time

Position Description

Technology plays a leading role in enabling and delivering ESB’s purpose to deliver a brighter future for the customers and communities we serve. We are driven to make a difference – by becoming net zero by 2040 – and it’s our people who ensure we succeed.

At ESB, we operate one of the most advanced and critical technology landscapes in Ireland. We manage a vast array of Enterprise IT and Operational Technologies (OT) which reside in our state‑of‑the art data centres, in our power generation plants, and in our critical operations centres – all requiring the appropriate level of security to protect our business. Together, these technologies support our critical national infrastructure, and we are recruiting a Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance Analyst to support our transformation to a digital utility.

The CISO team is looking for talented, personable and ambitious candidates to fill the role of Strategy & Governance Analyst. Successful candidates will have a key role in shaping how cybersecurity is delivered to meet business goals, supporting major change imperatives and in enabling ESB’s transition to a digital utility.

We are seeking to attract candidates who have cybersecurity experience or those with portfolio management, organisational or IT experience seeking to bring those skills to a cybersecurity role.

Key Responsibilities

- Support and enhance the Cybersecurity Strategy and Governance function, and the Strategy & Governance lead.

- Apply CISO processes to manage the Cybersecurity Portfolio process and lead weekly Cybersecurity Portfolio meetings for Cybersecurity teams to include review of engagements, ensuring Architects, Engineers & Risk resources are assigned as required.

- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities including working closely with 3rd‑party organisations to ensure optimum service delivery and thought leadership.

- Collaborate and ensure appropriate communications with all stakeholders (including project managers, portfolio managers, solution architecture managers and the Virtual Demand team) to ensure awareness of all relevant incoming and existing work and create outputs readily consumable by all audiences.

- Own tracking of Cybersecurity Engagement requests, govern the Cybersecurity Exceptions process, including monthly reporting and SharePoint updates. Maintain the Cybersecurity Backlog and enhance the Cybersecurity metrics program.

- Publish and maintain cybersecurity standards on SharePoint, ensuring timely reviews, and act as single point of contact for cybersecurity stakeholders across ESB.

- Leverage existing tools to create Cybersecurity Training & Awareness campaigns, Phishing Simulations and related reporting.

Applicants should be delivery focussed and have the following demonstrable knowledge skills and experience:

Essential

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience, including relevant IT and/or cybersecurity experience.

- Relevant 3rd level degree.

- Excellent organisational, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication and analytical skills.

- Ability to plan, execute and document activities following established processes and procedures. Outstanding reporting, analytical and documentation/writing experience including MS Office 365 applications skills (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word).

- Ability to manage multiple work streams and work both independently as well as part of a team.

- Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems.

- Above all, applicants must be organised, innovative in their approach and able to demonstrate their ability to actively and independently contribute to a team that delivers results.

Desirable

- Experience with MS Forms, SharePoint and PowerBi.

- Knowledge of project delivery lifecycles and experience in structured project management techniques combined with a knowledge of information systems and technology and the application of these to process improvement projects.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and policies, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks and standards.

- Previous experience working in a utility industry would be a bonus.
