Site Reliability Engineer - Azure PaaS / Observability We're searching for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for a large-scale SaaS platform running on Microsoft Azure PaaS. This role is perfect for engineers who enjoy diving deep into complex systems, strengthening observability, and resolving issues at speed - not just relying on dashboards, but understanding what's happening under the hood. Role Overview Maintain and enhance the reliability, resilience, and performance of Azure PaaS workloads. Design and evolve monitoring, alerting, and observability approaches to detect issues early. Tackle challenging production incidents, find root causes quickly, and deliver permanent fixes. Build automation and Infrastructure as Code tooling (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell) to streamline operations. Work closely with engineering and operations teams to promote continuous service improvement. Drive performance, capacity, and cost optimisation across the cloud platform. Skills & Experience Recent (3+ years) hands-on experience with Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Functions, Service Bus, SQL, etc. Strong grounding in observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting distributed cloud environments. Solid experience with IaC and automation tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell). Familiar with monitoring stacks like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar. Proven capability in incident management, RCA, and reliability engineering. Exceptional analytical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to look beyond surface-level symptoms. Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-305) are beneficial. Preferred Background Previous experience supporting SaaS or enterprise-scale production systems. Understanding of cloud architecture, security, and compliance principles. Highly collaborative with strong communication skills across cross-functional teams.
