Job Title: Duty Manager

Smyths Toys is one of the world's largest specialty retailers of children's toys, operating both online and through physical retail stores across Europe and the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver, maximise and exceed sales targets in store
  • Maintain availability of all products on the shop floor
  • Ensure teams familiarity with all products in all departments
  • Carry out customer purchases in accordance with company guidelines
  • Handle customer queries promptly and effectively
  • Meet company standards on housekeeping, floor presentation and space planning
  • Participate in weekly stock takes and report abnormal counts to the Store Manager
  • Ensure staffing levels match business needs or events in-store
  • Prepare and monitor daily task boards
  • Drive teams knowledge of Top Sellers and Department Stock Loss
  • Assist Store Manager with staffing issues, i.e. training and performance reviews
  • Cash handling and security: conduct daily spot checks on all tills
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store

Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Retail Manager in a fast-paced retail environment
  • High level of operational, leadership, planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Target driven and customer service orientated
  • Highly motivated and ambitious
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
