Pharmacy Technician Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications to long-term care facilities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong analytical skills. They will also be knowledgeable about medical terminology, pharmacy procedures, and state/federal guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Filling prescription orders for all medicinal agents
  • Determining prescription assignment for dosage, drug choice, administration, and possible reactions/interactions
  • Supervising technicians in prescription data entry, packing oral medications, label and card preparation
  • Assisting pharmacists with special projects, rotating work schedule, and compounding prescriptions as needed
  • Providing cost-effective alternatives to non-insurance covered items and monitoring patient lab results related to dose adjustments

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a long-term care facility
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy procedures, and state/federal guidelines
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
