Lead Instrumentation Specialist

This is a key role for a professional to lead the integration of various projects within an international engineering and project management firm.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy industrial engineering design, particularly in instrumentation engineering. They will be proficient in designing complete suites of instrumentation services, including index lists, I/O allocation, instrument specs, data sheets, layouts, cable containment, block diagrams, system architecture, ATEX/hazardous areas, clean room applications.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior and intermediate-level engineers, checking other engineers' work for accuracy and quality, and participating in client and company meetings. Strong communication skills are essential, as they will be required to prepare written specifications and contract documents.

The successful candidate will have a third-level degree in instrumentation engineering or a similar discipline, with over 10 years of experience in formal heavy industrial engineering design. They will also have advanced knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry practices.

A commercially aware individual with the ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies to provide cost-effective solutions is desired. Experience with digital project delivery and multiple office execution is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop instrumentation services, including index lists, I/O allocation, instrument specs, data sheets, layouts, cable containment, block diagrams, system architecture, ATEX/hazardous areas, clean room applications.

2. Mentor junior and intermediate-level engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.

3. Check other engineers' work for accuracy and quality to ensure high-quality deliverables.

4. Prepare written specifications and contract documents to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Third-level degree in instrumentation engineering or a similar discipline.

">

Over 10 years of experience in formal heavy industrial engineering design.

">

Advanced knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry practices.

Proficient in digital project delivery and multiple office execution.
