Eco Consultant

ATG are working with a leading environmental consultancy based in Ireland, specialising in ecological assessment and environmental planning. The company is seeking an experienced ecologist to join their team.

• Conduct field surveys (e.g., habitat, bat, bird, mammal, aquatic) according to best practice and seasonal constraints.
• Assist in the preparation of ecological reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Appropriate Assessments (AA), and Biodiversity Chapters for EIARs.
• Support project delivery in compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislation.
• Undertake desktop studies and data analysis using GIS and ecological databases.
• Liaise with clients, statutory agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Provide input into mitigation design and habitat management planning.

A strong educational background in ecology or a related discipline is required.

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in ecological consultancy or a similar role.
• Strong field survey skills (e.g., habitat mapping using Fossitt classification, protected species surveys).
• Knowledge of Irish wildlife legislation and the Habitats Directive.
• Proficiency in report writing, data interpretation, and impact assessment.
• Full clean driving licence required.
• Bat licence or other NPWS licences an advantage.
