Pharmaceutical Project Manager Job Description

This senior-level role involves providing operational drug development leadership across the External Innovation R&D portfolio. The project manager will partner with program leads to ensure implementation readiness and program oversight.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse teams delivering solutions across Finance, IT, Medical, Clinical Trials, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate collaboration portfolio delivery by planning and directing cross-functional team meetings, and communicating with external partners to drive alignment and action items for program deliverables.
  • Ensure quality and timely content using project management tools, and guarantee access to information for all team members.
  • Monitor and prioritize program risks, contribute to mitigation strategies, and initiate contingency plans to minimize disruption.
  • Implement change management processes to manage project scope, cost, schedule, and value.
  • Develop integrated project plans aligned with collaboration agreements and oversee milestone delivery to meet organizational objectives.
  • Drive financial accounting across programs, provide internal reports, resolve discrepancies, and work with finance on partner invoicing to ensure seamless transactions.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in a health-related, scientific or engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, or project management, preferably with a proven track record of success.
