We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a transcription specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for transcribing educational material into various accessible formats, including braille, large print, digital, and 3D.

This role involves working collaboratively with other specialists to produce high-quality materials for students with visual impairments at primary and secondary level. Full training in transcription formats will be provided, and prior knowledge of braille is not required.

Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to enroll in a Learn Braille course and develop their skills further.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Excellent command of English grammar and spelling
  • Highest attention to detail
  • High level of computer literacy, preferably ECDL or equivalent level
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Good organisational skills for dealing with high workload rotas
  • Good knowledge of the Irish education system at both primary and secondary school level
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
