Lead AI Innovation Specialist

We are seeking a Lead AI Innovation Specialist to drive the development of cutting-edge machine learning features, conduct research on suitable algorithms and technologies, and expedite the deployment of prototypes in customers' hands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine areas where AI can deliver significant value to our customers
  • Identify the most effective AI approaches for product challenges
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders from Product and Design departments
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and research
  • Gain profound understanding of the problem domain
  • Research and identify optimal algorithms and tools
  • Balance pragmatism with innovation to stay at the forefront of AI advancements
  • Evaluate algorithms offline to gather evidence of their effectiveness
  • Work closely with engineers to bring prototypes to production
  • Develop plans to measure and disseminate learnings to inform iterative improvements
  • Promote close collaboration with the rest of the team, and other departments, to create exceptional AI products
Requirements:
  • Broad expertise in applied AI
  • 3-5 years of experience in AI application
  • Practical knowledge of statistics (experiment design, dealing with confounding variables)
  • Excellent communication skills, both within engineering teams and across disciplines
  • Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Typically holds an advanced degree in AI or a related field (e.g. MSc)
  • Demonstrates scientific thinking skills
  • Proven track record of shipping AI products
  • PhD or equivalent experience in a research environment
  • Deep expertise in relevant AI areas, such as NLP, Deep Learning, Bayesian methods, Reinforcement learning, clustering
  • Strong background in statistics or mathematics
