Database Security Engineer

Our organization is seeking a skilled Database Security Engineer to enhance our database monitoring capabilities. This role involves designing and implementing solutions to deepen our ability to monitor database activity, supporting cybersecurity initiatives.

The Team

Our team focuses on architecting, designing, deploying, administering, supporting, and maintaining global deployments of database activity monitoring capabilities. We have strong technical backgrounds, the ability to troubleshoot complex problems, innovative thinking, excellent communication, and a willingness to drive customer satisfaction directly with end-users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engineering solutions that deepen our ability to monitor database activity.
  • Provide ongoing production support, including incident, change, and release management activities.
  • Participate in global on-call rotations to ensure platform availability and stability.
  • Manage technology lifecycle activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience in collecting business requirements, converting them into system requirements, and working with product teams.
  • Technical skills in SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Java, or Python are required.
  • Demonstrated ability in cloud DevOps roles, cloud architectures, and solutions is required.
  • CI/CD pipeline automation and orchestration utilizing GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins Core, as well as scripting knowledge (Python, Shell) is required.
  • Experience in working with cloud computing technologies (AWS) is required.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity Database activity Logging & Monitoring and AWS CloudWatch is preferred.
  • Experience in working with Agile Scrum methodology and ITIL or another IT service management framework is preferred.
Desirable Skills
  • Strong knowledge of supporting operating systems (Linux and Windows).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud/on prem/hybrid application deployment models.
  • Excellent system analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting difficult technical problems.
