Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding the QA team, overseeing daily activities, and ensuring alignment with project goals. You will also assist in onboarding new team members and conducting training sessions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to the QA team.
  • Overseeing and managing daily activities of the QA team to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Assisting in onboarding new QA team members and conducting training sessions.
  • Serving as a liaison between the QA team and cross-functional Scrum teams.
  • Ensuring QA tasks are properly prioritized, assigned, and completed within sprint timelines.
  • Participating in Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to represent QA activities.
  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Performing hands-on manual or automated testing (functional, regression, integration, and UAT).
  • Identifying testing gaps and ensuring complete coverage of requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing defect lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • Generating and sharing testing progress, quality metrics, and defect reports with stakeholders.
  • Implementing and enforcing quality assurance processes and best practices to ensure high product quality.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in testing processes and proposing actionable solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years team leadership experience in a QA environment, preferably leading small to medium-sized teams. 10+ years overall experience.
  • Strong hands-on testing experience (manual or automated).
  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, coordinating QA efforts with Scrum teams.
  • Proficiency with testing tools like JIRA, TestRail, Selenium, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting languages desirable (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript).
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor QA team members.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts and facilitate collaboration across teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting progress, defects, and risks.
  • Comfortable presenting quality metrics and updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience improving QA workflows and advocating for quality improvements in Agile environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
