Facilities Maintainer

Our organization seeks a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about maintaining facilities and ensuring the safety and security of patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations by reporting any non-compliance to the supervisor or Safety Director.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to improve and advance position skills.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and ceiling repairs.
- Conduct grounds work including mowing, trimming, raking, sweeping, spraying, watering, planting, and other duties as required.
- Maintain floor surfaces through polishing, waxing, repairing, extracting, and cleaning.
- Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs including electric bed installation and removal, carpentry, and other repairs.
- Participate in department meetings, fire drills, elopement, and other disaster drills.
- Properly use, store, and dispose of hazardous, flammable, and combustible chemicals and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Physical Plant Director.
Qualifications:
- Able to read and write in English.
- Ability to rotate shifts and days off as required to perform assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients.
- Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions in patient areas.
- Knowledge of fire and safety codes, JCAHO requirements, and relevant state and federal regulations related to plant operations.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma with some vocational/technical school or apprentice training is required. A minimum of two years of related service experience is also required.
