The Northern California Chapter of APCO International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Alameda County Emergency Response Coordinator to coordinate emergency response efforts throughout Alameda County. As a key member of the Sheriff's Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures, as well as collaborating with other agencies and organizations to ensure effective communication and coordination.

This leadership role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in emergency services dispatch or a related field and a proven track record of success in a supervisory capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures
  • Coordinate emergency response efforts with other agencies and organizations
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to emergency response activities
  • Provide training and guidance to emergency responders on emergency response procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Administration of Justice, Public Administration)
  • At least 5 years of full-time experience in emergency services dispatch or a related field, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Registration with the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) or the National Emergency Number Association (NENA)
