The role of General Manager is a senior position, reporting to the Trading Director. The successful applicant will have responsibility for the full sales, commercial and operational management of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver sales, margin and operational performance targets for the business
  • Develop partnership agendas with preferred supplier partners
  • Manage a portfolio of brands, including product range and selection, introducing new brands in line with market trends and de-listing existing suppliers or brands as conditions demand
  • Meet customer and sales requirements in terms of range, pricing, online presentation and promotions where appropriate
  • Foster and develop customer relationships
  • Identify new business opportunities and sales development, working strategically and collaboratively with the wider wholesale sales organisation
  • Responsibility for the in-bound and outbound supply chain and depot stock levels
  • Further develop the brand equity of the business with appropriate marketing and brand development activities
Requirements
  • Highly driven individuals with exceptional sales and commercial acumen, and extensive relevant experience in the FMCG environment
  • Experience of the Sports Nutrition business is advantageous
  • Core competencies include strategic thinking ability, financial management, negotiating, influencing, leadership and relationship development skills coupled with a concern and a capacity for delivering results
